Over a decade ago, Tessum Weber embarked on a journey to the mountains of British Columbia, driven by his passion for skiing. Fresh from his days as a competitive ski athlete, Tessum traded his cross country skis for a taste of backcountry adventure. For the uninitiated, backcountry skiing involves ascending mountains, often equipped with skins on the skis for traction, and then revealing in untouched powder on the descent—a thrilling departure from Tessum's previous winters spent on groomed cross country trails.
Word of Tessum's new pursuit reached his brother, Nansen Weber, who wasted no time in joining him in Revelstoke, British Columbia. Together, they delved into the rugged terrain, spending winters exploring the majestic mountains of British Columbia and summers guiding at the family-owned Arctic Watch Wilderness Lodge.
Their expertise in Arctic travel and newfound love for backcountry skiing led to a groundbreaking endeavour: establishing the world's northernmost private heli-ski basecamp on Baffin Island. Despite the challenges posed by the remote location and logistical complexities, Nansen and Tessum rose to the occasion, creating an unparalleled experience in one of the planet's most extraordinary settings.
Buoyed by their success, the brothers expanded their private trip offerings to include guided ski traverses in the Arctic Archipelago and heli-skiing adventures aboard super-yachts along the shores of Greenland.
Now, in the present day, the Weber brothers are thrilled to introduce Weber Powder, bringing their wealth of experience closer to home in the Selkirk Mountains. Here, they will continue their tradition of crafting exceptional experiences that seamlessly blend comfort with the spirit of exploration.
Backed by a group of passionate outdoor enthusiasts, Tessum and Nansen are setting out to develop ski & refined mountain experiences in British Columbia that redefine world class skiing, proper mountain lodges and summer experiences for all walks of life.
