At Weber Powder, we are always looking for ways to give back to our community. This year, we had the privilege of sponsoring the Indigenous Backcountry Skills Training Course and have an exciting new partnership with the Revelstoke Hospital Auxiliary Society.
Starting this year, Weber Powder will donate 10% of trips reserved by any Health Service, Law Enforcement, Public Safety, First Responders and Emergency Response Personnel to the Revelstoke Hospital Auxiliary Society. If you are interested in reserving a trip with Weber Powder and work in one of these sectors, please reach out to our team at mail@weberpowder.com or +1-819-923-0932 to secure your reservation. Following the completing of your trip, the 10% donation will be allocated to the RHAS!
The Revelstoke Hospital Auxiliary Society is a non-profit group of dedicated volunteers who support health care in the community of Revelstoke by providing funds and supporting services in the community. Funds are allocated to the Queen Victoria Hospital and support the purchase of new equipment and improved community services. Beyond the hospital, RHAS also provides two annual $1500 bursaries for individuals pursuing a career in the medical field. Needless to say, the Revelstoke Hospital Auxiliary Society is an integral part of the community and available health care service.
The IBST program aims to provide Indigenous skiers and snowboarders with a welcoming environment to learn about safe backcountry travel and risk management. The program is an all inclusive 4 night/4 day program designed around Avalanche Canadas AST course. While backcountry safety is a priority, the course also aims to create a sense of community for Indigenous outdoor enthusiasts and remove the barrier of entry to the sport. We were honoured to be part of this initiative through sponsorship in both 2023 and 2024. Watch the program recap below to learn more!
