As we near the end of our first ski season at the newly renovated Battle Abbey Backcountry Lodge, we want to take a moment to reflect on what has been an unforgettable winter. This season marked a major milestone—our lodge, completely reimagined and revitalized, welcomed its first guests in November after months of dedication, craftsmanship, and passion.

A huge thank you goes out to our teams and partners—Weber Powder, Dogtooth Construction, Alpine Helicopters, and many more—who worked tirelessly to bring our vision to life. Their hard work ensured that Battle Abbey not only remained a world-class destination but elevated the experience to new heights for future decades.

From the moment the season kicked off, our team went above and beyond to create something truly special. 

On the mountain, our new four-guide format and reduced guest group size has been a game-changer, allowing us to further tailor each day’s skiing to our guests. Our ability to allow folks to ski as much as they want without pressure - be it a half day and spending the afternoon in the sauna with après, or off chasing a big ski objective on a full day adventure. It really comes down to allowing the guest to choose without pressure. 

The in-lodge experience, shaped by our renovations, has been nothing short of incredible—warm, inviting living spaces, great rooms and facilities, unforgettable meals crafted by our head chef (who poured hundreds of hours into curating the culinary experience), and carefully selected wines from our Okanagan Valley partners.

We also explored new ways to experience the terrain including testing heli-assisted ski touring. These additions have allowed guests to reach further afield while maintaining the pristine, human-powered nature of ski touring at Battle Abbey.

Most importantly, we're incredibly proud to see our vision come to life. This season, we’ve hosted families with newborns, young children, first-time ski tourers, and seasoned backcountry veterans alike—all of whom experienced the magic of Battle Abbey. Our goal has always been to offer world-class mountain experiences for all walks of life, and this winter proved that vision is becoming a reality. 

To our team at the lodge: You are the life-blood of an incredible experience. Your dedication has been remarkable. Thank you. 

As we start into the final leg of the ski season, we will be hosting a small tailored heliski program from Battle Abbey in partnership with CMH Purcell. 

The goal is to heliski on the exclusively dedicated 500,000 acre CMH Purcell Tenure nearby the Battle Abbey tenure - without compromising our ski touring experiences. No helicopters buzzing our tenure and the quiet of the mountains will continue to be all we hear when we leave the lodge on foot. We're incredibly excited to see this experience exclusively for select dates in April annually in our goal to offer multiple forms of skiing for all walks of life in the amazing mountains of BC.
